Body Control Module: Service and Repair





Removal

1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the heater & A/C controller from center facia panel.

3. Remove the front seat heater switch assembly.

4. Remove the right air vent.

5. Loosen the nut and bolt from BCM.




6. Insert the hand to right air vent hole to disconnect the BCM connectors.
And then remove the BCM (A) from the heater & A/C controller hole.






Installation

1. Install the BCM and connect the connectors.
2. Install the right air vent.
3. Install the front seat heater switch assembly.
4. Install the heater & A/C controller from center facia panel.

Trouble Diagnostics When Using GDS

1. The IPM can be diagnosed by using the GDS. The BCM communicates with the GDS which then displays inputs and outputs along with codes.
2. To diagnose the IPM function, select the vehicle model and IPM.




3. To consult the present input/out value of IPM, "Current DATA". It provides information of IPM input/output conditions of power supply, turn signal/brake lamp, headlamp, door locks, outside mirror, wiper, auto-light and transmitters etc.




4. To perform functional test on IPM outputs, select "Actuation Test"
