SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Open the driver's door.

2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.

3. Set the parking brake.

4. Move the shift lever to "D" position.









5. Remove the center facia panel. Use a wide flat tool, such as a trim tool or a clean scraper to pop the clips out. Remove the bottom clips, then work upwards.

CAUTION: Be careful not to scratch the center facia panel, break any of the 6 mounting clips, or press too hard on the instrument panel.






6. Disconnect the hazard lamp switch and trip computer connectors.






7. Remove the 4 mounting screws and then remove the trip computer from the center facia panel.






8. The removed trip computer.






9. Remove the 2 top cover mounting screws, cut the part number sticker on the back along the edge of the cover, and remove the cover.









10. The front cover is held on by either 2 screws or clips on each side.

^ Remove the screws or open the clips as necessary to remove the front cover.

Screw type Produced after Feb. 18, 2000.






11. Remove and replace all 4 bulbs as a set. Pull the bulb out of the socket, peel the green cover off of the old bulb and place it on the new bulb, then insert the new bulb into the socket.

NOTE: All 4 bulbs must be replaced as a set.

12. Reinstall all removed components in the reverse order of their removal.

NOTE:Make certain that the center facia panel mounting clips (6 each) are installed to the crash pad correctly.

13. Check the trip computer for proper operation.
