2001 XG300 & 2002 XG350 CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH TURNS OFF BY ITSELF

DESCRIPTION:

On some 2001 MY XG3OO and 2002 MY XG350 vehicles, the Cruise Control Main Switch may turn OFF by itself when the brakes are applied.

The Cruise Control Main Switch is located on the instrument panel, left of the steering wheel; next to the TCS and Dimmer switches.

This conditions is caused by the brake lamp switch. A new brake switch has been installed in production starting on May 20, 2002.






NOTE
This Brake Switch condition does not affect the function of the brakes and brake lights in any way.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Replace the Brake Switch with part number 93810-38110.

PICTURES OF "PREVIOUS" AND "NEW" BRAKE SWITCHES:











The pictures in this bulletin show the "PREVIOUS" and "NEW" brake switches.

The parts can be distinguished by the color of the plastic brake switch plunger.

^ The "NEW" improved parts plastic plunger is BLACK.

^ The "PREVIOUS" brake switch plastic plunger is WHITE.

NOTE
The part number molded into the brake switch plastic housing was not updated. The "PREVIOUS" part number is still molded in the "NEW" switch 93810-38100.
