XG300 / XG350 CAMSHAFT IDENTIFICATION AND SHOP MANUAL CORRECTION
CORRECTION DESCRIPTION:
The following diagrams and pictures show how to identify the XG 3.0L and 3.5L camshafts for proper location in the engine. It also provides correction to page EM-32 of the XG350 Shop Manual. Make reference to this TSB on page EM-36 (XG300 Shop Manual) and page EM-32 (XG350 Shop Manual).
Each camshaft for the 3.0L and 3.5L engine is etched with a letter on the end of the camshaft to identify the location the camshaft should be mounted in. The letter should be read while held in the "6 o'clock" position and viewed with a good flashlight.
CAUTION
The camshafts all have letters cast in between the lobes with "RI, RE, LI, LE. These casting letters are meaningless and should NOT be used to determine camshaft location.
