2002 XG350 ECM REPROGRAMMING FOR SMOOTHER FEELING ACCELERATION

DESCRIPTION:

The acceleration characteristics of some 2002 XG350 vehicles may not feel as smooth as some customers desire.

This bulletin describes the procedure for updating the ECM software with new logic to improve the acceleration feel by using the Hi-Scan Pro.

VEHICLES AFFECTED:

^ Model: 2002 XG350

^ Affected vehicle production date range: Produced through March 7, 2002.

^ Affected VIN range: Produced through KMHFU45E12A186845.





NOTE:
All 2002 XG350 vehicles distributed to dealerships after March 11, 2002 have already been reprogrammed. All vehicles that have been reprogrammed are marked by a clear plastic sticker located under the vehicle certification plate that is attached to the driver's door jam (see photo). If the vehicle has the clear sticker, the ECM has already been updated and no further action is required.

CAUTIONS BEFORE REPROGRAMMING:

1. Conduct reprogramming with the ignition key in the "ON" position.

2. Be careful not to disconnect any cables connected to the vehicle or Hi-Scan Pro during reprogramming.

WARNING:
If reprogramming is interrupted, the manual update procedure must be used.

3. Do not start the engine during reprogramming.

4. Do not turn the ignition key off during reprogramming.
