2002-03 XG350 SHUDDER OR VIBRATION DURING ACCELERATION

DESCRIPTION:

Some 2002-03 MY XG350 vehicles may experience a light to moderate shudder or vibration, which can be felt in the vehicle body, floor pan or accelerator pedal. The shudder or vibration may be felt during the following conditions:

^ During medium to full throttle acceleration from a stop

^ In 1st gear or during the 1-2 shift at speeds below 30 mph

^ During acceleration in a straight line, but more noticeable when turning left or right

VEHICLES AFFECTED:
^ 2002-03 MY XG350 vehicles produced prior to February 17, 2003





To correct this condition, go to the "Repair Procedure".

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove and replace the left axle shaft (driver's side) according to the 2002 XG350 Shop Manual, Page DS-9.

2. Test drive the vehicle and evaluate for shudder and vibration. If the shudder or vibration continues to occur, replace the right side (passenger side) axle shaft.
