NOTE:
The removed air bag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the pad cover facing up.

14. Disconnect the connectors and then remove the multifunction switch mounting screws (3 each).

15. Remove the multifunction switch from the steering column.

16. Remove the lower crash pad panel mounting screws (2 each) and then remove the DLC (Data Link Connector) and hood release cable from the lower crash pad panel.

18. Remove the cluster mounting screws (4 each).

19. Remove the cluster and then disconnect the cluster connectors.

The VIN plate must be removed last to avoid drilling through the air ducts. It must be installed first for the same reason.

39. Pre-drill the rivet holes in the new crash pad (1/8", 3.1 mm), then rivet the VIN plate to the new crash pad using a standard pop rivet tool.

NOTE:
These are special rivets that must be ordered for each specific VIN, as described in this bulletin.

40. Reinstall the removed passenger air bag module to the new main crash pad.

41. Reinstall all removed components in reverse order of removal.

42. Connect the battery negative (-) cable. Set the clock and program the customer's radio stations.
