DESCRIPTION:





This bulletin provides engine cover adaptation instructions that are necessary for battery replacement on 2003-04 MY Tiburon vehicles with 2.7L engines. The recommended replacement battery is taller than the OEM battery. Vent caps on the replacement battery add approximately 1/2 inch to the height of the replacement battery and do not allow the shroud to seat properly.

PARTS INFORMATION:

Replacement battery part number 00275-16000

SERVICE PROCEDURE:





1. Remove the engine cover by removing the (6) bolts shown.





2. Remove the rubber ring on the underside and discard.





3. Cut away the four plastic circular tabs that attached the rubber ring.

4. Reinstall cover with the original six bolts.

This procedure will provide more clearance room for the replacement battery.
