GDS Manual Mode (Error Mode) Reprogramming Procedure

GDS MANUAL MODE (ERROR MODE) REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE:

Follow these steps in the event the ECU reprogramming was not successful or did not complete using the above GDS Auto Mode reprogramming instructions:

1. Turn off the ignition key for 20 seconds and then turn it back on; this will assure that the ECU is reset.

2. Within the ECU Upgrade screen in the left column select Manual Mode followed by AT. Then select an Upgrade Event according the vehicle's production date. Refer to table above.

IMPORTANT:
Make sure to select the correct Upgrade Event according to the vehicle's Production Date.

3. Select the ECU part number from the table shown based on the original CURRENT ROM ID information. Then click OK.

NOTE:
If you didn't write down the original CURRENT ROM ID when initially attempting the Auto Mode reprogram instructions, repeat steps 7-8 of the Auto Mode instructions to read the ROM ID, then repeat steps 1-2 of the Manual Mode instructions again.

4. Next enter the appropriate password from the table above and select OK in the ECU Upgrade screen.

5. Reprogramming should begin and after a few minutes the progress bar will be filled. Follow any pop-up screen instructions that appear during the reprogramming.

6. The manual reprogramming mode has been completed successfully when the confirmation pop-up screen appears as shown.

7. Check that no incidental DTC have been created from the reprogramming and, if any have been set, that they don't return after being cleared. If they return after being cleared, follow the diagnostic directions for that DTC.
