This TSB supersedes TSB # 07-01-006 to update the procedure.

IMPORTANT:
DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS CAMPAIGN ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES PRIOR TO CUSTOMER RETAIL DELIVERY AND WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR.

IMPORTANT:
WHEN A VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ACCESS HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA'S "WARRANTY VEHICLE INFORMATION" SCREEN VIA DCS INTERACTIVE OR DCS ON-LINE TO IDENTIFY OPEN CAMPAIGNS.

DESCRIPTION:

Some 2007 MY Azera and Elantra vehicles equipped with XM radio may need to be activated/refreshed before operation. The refresh procedure is required to be performed to register the XM receiver (Set Top Box).

This bulletin provides the activation procedure for the XM radio set top box.

VEHICLES AFFECTED:
^ Model: 2007 Azera and Elantra vehicles with XM radio.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE:

1. Add one gallon of fuel to the vehicle.

2. Ensure vehicle is parked outdoors and has a clear view to the sky.

NOTE:
Overhangs or tall buildings may block satellite reception.

3. Start the vehicle and let it idle.





4. Turn on the radio and select XM on the radio faceplate. (Photo of Elantra radio).

5. Use the seek up/down button and tune to channels 4, 11 and 41.

6. Confirm that the channels are playing/functioning properly.

7. If the channels are functioning properly, leave the radio on for 15 minutes to ensure that the vehicle has exposure to the XM broadcast signal. Inspection complete.

8. If the channels cannot be tuned in and only the Preview Channels (channels 1, 174 & 247) are being received, continue with the Activation Procedure below.

ACTIVATION PROCEDURE:





9. In XM mode, scroll down to Channel 0 and write down the 8 digit ID code.

NOTE:
Channel 0 can only be reached with the Seek Up or Seek Down control.

10. Go to a computer with internet access and log on to the website XMRADIO.COM\REFRESH.





11. Enter in the 8 digit ID code and follow the instructions as noted on the XM page.





12. A "CONGRATULATIONS message will appear on the website if the refresh has been accepted by the uplink.





13. If a "WE'RE SORRY" message appears on the website:

A. Verify the correct 8-digit ID was entered into the website and re-submit.

B. Contact XM Listener Care Center at (800) 967-2346 for assistance.

14. Ensure the vehicle is parked outdoors and has a clear view to the sky.

15. Tune to Channel 1 and keep the radio on for 15 minutes.

16. After 15 minutes, tune to Channels 4, 11 and 41 to ensure that audio is operating and the text is shown on the display.

17. Activation procedure complete.
