Air Conditioner - B1208 Intake Potentiometer Open (Low) - Component Inspection

Component Inspection

Check A/C Control Unit
1. Engine "ON".
2. Disconnect intake actuator.
3. Measure voltage value between terminal "1" of A/C control unit and chassis ground.

Specification : 5 V




4. Is the measured voltage within specifications?





Check intake actuator.
1. Check actuator motor
(1) Ignition "OFF".
(2) Disconnect intake actuator.
(3) Connect (+) terminal of battery to terminal 3 of intake actuator and (-) terminal to terminal 4
(4) Verify that the actuator operates to the REC position
(5) Verify that the temperature actuator operates to the FRE position with reverse connecting. ((+) to 4 and (-) to 3)








(6) Dose the actuator work properly?





2. Check actuator potentiometer
(1) Ignition "ON".
(2) Connect intake actuator.
(3) Measure voltage between terminal "5" and "6" of passenger air mix actuator while operating the intake switch.

Specification : Refer the specifications in fig 3)
