Repair Procedures





Inspection

Lighting Switch Inspection
With the multifunction switch in each position, make sure that continuity exists between the terminals below. If continuity is not as specified, replace the multifunction switch.





Lighting switch




HS : Head lamp switch(Short inside)

Dimmer And Passing Switch




HU : Head lamp high beam
HL : Head lamp low beam
HF : Head lamp passing switch
HS : Head lamp switch(Short inside)

Turn Signal Switch





Front Fog Lamp Switch





Wiper And Washer Switch Inspection
With the multifunction switch in each position, make sure that continuity exists between the terminals below. If continuity is not as specified, replace the multi-function switch.





Wiper Switch (Intermittent)




INT 1 : Intermittent switch 1(Short inside)
INT 2 : Intermittent switch 2(Short inside)
B1 : B1(Short inside)

Washer Switch






Removal

Wiper and Washer Switch
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the steering column upper (A) and lower (B) shrouds after removing 3 screws.












3. Disconnect the connector(A). Release the lock of wiper switch using tool without removing the steering wheel and the clock spring.
Remove the wiper and washer switch.





Multifunction Switch Assembly
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the steering wheel.

3. Remove the steering column upper and lower shrouds after removing 3 screws.
4. Remove the clock spring.

5. Disconnect the lighting switch connector and wiper & washer switch connector.
Remove the multifunction switch assembly (A) after loosening 2 mounting screws.





Flasher Unit
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the flasher unit (A) under the driver's lower crash pad after disconnecting the connector and loosening the bolt.






Installation

Multifunction Switch
1. Install the multifunction switch.
2. Install the clock spring.
3. Install the steering column upper and lower shrouds.
4. Install the steering wheel.

NOTE:
Make sure the multifunction switch connectors are plugged in properly.

Flasher Unit
1. Install the flasher unit.
2. Fasten the bolt and connect the flasher unit connector.

NOTE:
Make sure the flasher unit connector is plugged in properly.
