Engine Control
P0480 Fan 1 Control Circuit - General Information

General Description

When the engine coolant reaches normal operating temperature the PCM will enable the electric cooling fan to move air across the radiator thereby removing heat from the engine coolant. The amount of air movement caused by the fan is based on the following inputs to the PCM which calculates duty cycle based on; Vehicle speed, coolant temperature, A/C pressure, A/C switch request and A/C clutch status.

DTC Description

If the PCM detects a short to ground, to battery or open circuit in the Cooling fan relay (low), the PCM sets a P0480 DTC.
