P2228 Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input - General Information

Component Location

General Description

The Barometric Pressure Sensor (BPS) is located between the air cleaner assembly and the throttle body. It detects the atmospheric pressure at the vehicle's current location. The barometric pressure sensor signal is used to calculates the density of the air. The Barometric Pressure Sensor plays an important role when driving in the mountains and in different altitiudes.

DTC Description

Checking output signals of BPS every 5 sec. under detecting condition, if an output signal is below 0.125V for more than 2.5 sec., PCM sets P2228.
