UNEXPECTED PEDAL REACTION

Diagnosis Procedure

1. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL STROKE

Check the brake pedal stroke. Refer to "Inspection and Adjustment" Adjustments.
Is the stroke too large?
YES- - Bleed air from brake tube and hose. Refer to "Bleeding Brake System" Service and Repair.
- Check the brake pedal, brake booster, and master cylinder for mount play, looseness, brake system fluid leakage, etc.
- Brake fluid: Refer to "Inspection" Removal and Replacement.
- Brake pedal: Refer to "Inspection and Adjustment" Adjustments.
- Brake master cylinder: Refer to "Inspection" Inspection.
- Brake booster: Refer to "Inspection" Inspection.
- Front disc brake: Refer to "BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (1 PISTON TYPE) : Inspection" Inspection (1 piston type), "BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (4 PISTON TYPE) : Inspection" Inspection (4
piston type).
- Rear disc brake: Refer to "BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (1 PISTON TYPE) : Inspection" Inspection (1 piston type), "BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (2 PISTON TYPE) : Inspection" Inspection (2
piston type).
NO- GO TO 2.

2. CHECK FUNCTION

Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector to deactivate ABS. Check if braking force is normal in this condition. Connect harness connector after inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Normal
NO- Check brake system.
