JDS-66JDS Software - Issue DBC 4075
MODEL:
94 MY XJS
DATE:
11/93
Software issue DBC 4075 should be used to diagnose faults on 1994 MY XJS vehicles from VIN 190528.
This software issue consists of three discs, (A, B & C). All diagnostics must begin with disc A. The operator will then be instructed to install the other disc(s), if required, during the diagnostic routine.
Software issue 4075 is formatted as follows:
^ Fault Diagnosis
^ Vehicle Set-Up
^ Connector Information
^ Multi-Meter Mode
^ Disc Check
^ Reload From New Disc
The main changes from Software issues 4055 and 4065 are as follows:
Diagnostics of the Multi-Function Unit (MFU) The MFU performs many of the functions common to the Central Micro-Processor found in the Sedan Range. It is a timing and control unit replacing individual components/relays found in previous MY XJS vehicles.
6.0L Engine Management and 4 Speed Automatic Transmission
Diagnostics of the 6.0L engine and 4L80E transmission are similar to that of the 1994 MY XJ12 Sedan JDS software issue 4070.
Security System Set-Up/Programming
The security system for 1994 MY XJS vehicles is similar to the 1993 MY Sedan. Intrusion and Inclination Sensing, however, is not available on XJS vehicles. These options will not be found on the security system diagnostic menu. Early 1994 MY XJS vehicles will not include a valet switch. The switch will be introduced as a running change.
In Addition
Each diagnostic routine, where applicable, will begin with a power feed fuse test. This feature enables the operator to check from the "Fuse fail" sub-menu the distribution of battery or ignition switched power to the affected circuit.
Software issue 4075 features "Down to the Wire" diagnosis. This information is similar to Software issue 4070 and can be reviewed in JDS Users Guide DBC 4070.
Connector information access is now faster.
