Shift Cable: Adjustments





SELECTOR CABLE ASSEMBLY - ADJUST





- Remove the centre console veneer finisher panel.

- Remove the linear switch from the mounting bracket for access.

- Slacken both the front and rear adjusting / locknuts, and position them to the end of their threads.

- At the transmission unit, remove the selector cable from the transmission gear selector lever, and align the lever to the 'N' - neutral position.

- Reconnect the selector cable and secure with the nut (1 Fig. 1).

- At the centre console, adjust the cable adjusting / locknuts until the selector lever positively engages the 'N' position notch, then tighten the rear adjusting / locknut - ensure the tabwasher engages with the bracket slots.

- Refit the linear switch into position, and ensure that the peg engages with the selector sliding block, do not fully tighten the bolts. Adjust the linear switch.

- Refit the centre console veneer finisher panel, and the gear selector surround.

- Refit the performance mode switch and the ashtray.
