Electrical/Electronic
Windshield WipersIn markets with daylight running headlamps (Canada), the drip wipe feature of the windshield wipers is disabled. If required, the feature can be re-enabled using the PDU, but once enabled it cannot be disabled again.
Horn Operation
The Body Processor Module (BPM) software is revised to prevent nuisance operation of the horns when entering or exiting the rear seats from the driver's side (and the driver's seat back is tilted against the steering wheel). With the new software, the horns will not sound if the ignition is off and the driver's door is open.
Transit Isolation Relay
The transit isolation relay is now controlled by the BPM.
BPM Grounds
The BPM grounds are now incorporated as case grounds.
Exterior Lighting
Headlamps
Automatic on/off control of the headlamps is introduced except on Canadian vehicles.
The automatic function is selected by setting the side lamps/headlamps switch (Illustration 4) to AUTO. Light sensors in the interior rear view mirror monitor ambient light and switch the low beam headlamps, side lamps and tail lamps on and off as appropriate for the prevailing light conditions. An adjuster on the interior mirror (Illustration 5) allows the switching point to be adjusted to different light levels. A time delay prevents nuisance switching.
Rear Fog Lamps
Operation of the rear fog lamps is revised to prevent them being inadvertently left on. If the rear fog lamps are on when the head lamps are selected off, they no longer come on again the next time the head lamps are selected on; to switch them on they must be re-selected on the center console switch.
High Mounted Stop Lamp
The high mounted stop lamp is now a standard fit in all markets on both Coupe and Convertible.
Switchgear
Trip Computer Switches
The function of the CLEAR switch in the trip computer switchpack is revised. The addition to clearing driver information messages, when trip computer information is being displayed a press of the CLEAR switch causes the message center to revert to the odometer reading (as an alternative to using the cycle switch).
Steering Wheel In Car Entertainment (ICE) Switches
The functions of the two center switches, (mode select and cycle, illustration 6), are revised to reflect the introduction of the integrated telephone option and to improve the CD skip function. The graphics on the switches are revised to reflect the function changes.
The source SELECT switch has the phone mode entry/exit function added.
The functions of the cycle switch are revised as follows:
In the phone mode: an initial short press connects a call and a subsequent long press ends the call.
an initial long press recalls the first number stored in
the phone's memory and subsequent short presses scroll
up through the numbers stored in the memory,
one at a time
In the CD mode: a short press gives next track selection and
a long press gives next CD selection.
Steering Wheel Cruise Control Switches
The SET function and graphic is removed from the SET - switch (illustration 7). Now, only the SET+ switch will engage cruise control.
Relays
Two violet microrelays (right side quarter light) are now located in position A, illustration 8. Two violet microrelays (left side quarter light) are now located in position B, Illustration 8.
Note:
The relay shown between positions A and B is not installed on NAS vehicles.
