Radio/Cassette Player

A new radio/cassette player (Illustration 10), with integrated phone controls, is introduced for all markets. The phone related functions only operate with a Jaguar portable phone installed for handsfree operation.

PORTABLE PHONE

On vehicles with the dealer-installed Jaguar portable phone system, a portable support electronics unit is installed under the center console cubby box and connected to:

^ the ICE system

^ a directional microphone on the overhead console (illustration 11)

^ an antenna on the trunk lid.

For handsfree operation the phone is connected to a coil cord from the portable support electronics unit and stowed in a cradle integrated into the top of the unit.

The phone can be operated handsfree using the ICE system's remote operating switches on the steering wheel and the phone buttons on the radio.

During operation, related messages are shown on the radio display.

For non-handsfree operation, the phone can be removed from the cradle.
