N1: CHECK THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION
1. Switch the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Check the camshaft position sensor for correct installation

Is the camshaft position sensor correctly installed?

Yes
Go to N2

No
INSTALL the camshaft position sensor correctly. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

N2: CHECK THE RESISTANCE OF THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
1. Remove the plastic engine cover.
2. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector PI10.
3. Measure the resistance between the camshaft position sensor electrical connector PI10 pin 2, (WP) and pin 1 (NW).

Is the resistance between 950 and 1250 ohms?

Yes
Go to N3

No
INSTALL a new camshaft position sensor. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

N3: CHECK THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
1. Measure the resistance between the camshaft position sensor electrical connector PI10 pin 1, (NW) and ground.

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

Yes
REPAIR the circuit between the camshaft position sensor electrical connector PI10 pin 1, (NW) and the spliced joint PIS6. INSTALL the powertrain control module (PCM). CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
Go to N4
