Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Remove the center console interior trim.
2. Remove the center console fixing bracket
3. Disconnect the parking brake position switch electrical connector.
4. Remove the air distribution duct.
5. Remove the center console rear mounting bracket.
6. Detach the parking brake lever assembly.
7. Remove the parking brake lever assembly.
8. Loosen the rear wheel nuts.
9. Reset the parking brake self-adjusting mechanism.
10. Raise and support the vehicle.
11. NOTE: The parking brake self-adjusting mechanism must be in the reset position to complete this step.
Release the tension of the parking brake cable.
12. Remove the rear wheels.
13. Release the rear cable at the caliper.
14. Release the rear conduit.
15. Detach the exhaust heat shield.
16. Detach the rear cables, conduit and equalizer.
17. Remove the front cable and the conduit from the assembly.
18. Remove the front conduit retaining clip.
19. Remove the front cable and conduit.
20. Unclip rear cable and conduit retaining bracket.
21. Remove the rear cable and conduit mounting bracket.
22. Detach the rear cable from the rear cross member.
23. Remove the rear cable and conduit.
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
