OPERATION










On certain model vehicles, the CVT transmission is equipped with a fluid bypass valve adapter which replaces the fluid cooler and external bypass valve. The pressure bypass (1) begins to actuate from 50-60 psi (3-4 bar). The thermal bypass valve begins to actuate at 160-170°F (71-77°C) and is fully open at 185°F (85°C). Approximate cooler flow with the bypass valve fully open is 1 quart (.95L) every seven seconds.
