Reports have been received through the Range Rover 4.0 SE nerve center, that identify an audible click coming from the bottom corner of the windscreen, in the area where the "A" post meets the facia.

This occurs when driving on uneven road surfaces or when cornering. It has been found the audible click is a result of the facia assembly coming into contact with the "A" post structure, due to a lack of clearance between the two assemblies.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint or at predelivery inspection, if an audible click can be heard coming from the facia area, follow the procedure below.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual section 76 pages 34/35





1) Remove the "A" post inner finisher to expose the "A" post lower assembly (identified A on the illustration).

2) Trim the facia edge to give a clearance of 1/16" - 1/8" (2 to 3 mm) from the "A" post lower assembly (see "B" on the illustration).

Care Point:
Care must be taken not to trim any part of the facia that is seen when re-assembled.

3) Further clearance may be gained by removing material from the "A" post lower panel.

Care Point:
Care must be taken to avoid any damage to the facia end, whilst removing material from the lower "A" post assembly.
