DETAIL

The automatic gear shifter detent cover can crack if the attachment screw is done up too tight. When replacing this cover ensure that the screw is tightened to 10.6 lbf. in (1.2 Nm). Do not over tighten.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of the gear shifter detent cover cracking, replace the cover.

PROCEDURE





1. Remove the screw in the automatic gear shifter cover as shown in the illustration.

2. Locate the new detent cover starting at the top two tabs, followed by the bottom tab.

3. Replace screw and torque to 10.6 lbf. in (1.2 Nm).
