Side Air Bag Module

Removal

WARNING: It is imperative that before any work is undertaken on the SRS system, the appropriate information is read thoroughly.

WARNING: Always disconnect both battery cables before beginning work on the SRS system. Disconnect the ground cable first. Never reverse connect the battery.
1 Make the SRS system safe. For additional information, refer to Standard Workshop Practices Standard Workshop Practices
2 Remove the front seat backrest cover. For additional information, refer to Front Seat Backrest Cover Front Seat Backrest Cover




3 Remove the front seat backrest pad.
- Remove the front seat head restraint retaining clips.

NOTE:
If the SRS component is to be replaced, the bar code of the new unit must be recorded.
Remove the side air bag module.
- Release the side air bag module harness.
- Remove the 2 nuts.

Installation
1 Install the side air bag module.
- Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft).
- Attach the wiring harness.
2 Install the front seat backrest pad.
- Install the front seat head restraint retaining clips.
3 Install the front seat backrest cover. For additional information, refer to Front Seat Backrest Cover Front Seat Backrest Cover
