EGR Valve: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE

Removal

1. Remove Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.
- Loosen the union nut of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.
- Remove the 2 bolts, Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe and gasket.
2. Remove Exhaust Gas Recirculation Gas Temperature Sensor.
3. Remove Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve.





- Disconnect the following hoses from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve:
- Vacuum hose (1)
- Pressure hose (2)
- Remove the 2 nuts, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve and gasket.

Installation

1. Reinstall Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve.





- Place a new gasket on the intake air connector.
- Install the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)





- Connect the following hoses to the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve:
- Vacuum hose (1)
- Pressure hose (2)

2. Reinstall Exhaust Gas Recirculation Gas Temperature Sensor.

Torque: 20 Nm (14 ft lb)





3. Reinstall Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.
- Temporarily install the union nut of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.
- Install a new gasket and the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)

- Tighten the union nut of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation pipe.

Torque: 64 Nm (47 ft lb)
