Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE

CAUTION: After affecting any repair that requires disassembly of fuel related components, inspect carefully for fuel leaks upon completion.





1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover.
2. Disconnect the Fuel Pump connector.
3. Start the engine. After the engine has stopped running on its own, turn the Ignition Switch OFF.
4. Remove the protective cover.
5. Place a suitable container under the Fuel Filter to catch spilled fuel.
6. Slowly loosen the fitting to relieve any remaining fuel pressure.
7. Completely disconnect the union fittings.
8. Remove the bolts and remove the Fuel Filter assembly.
9. Replace the Fuel Filter assembly with new filter and secure the fittings.

Torque: 34 Nm (25 ft lb)

10. Reinstall the rear body protector.
11. Reconnect the Fuel Pump connector and reinstall the luggage compartment trim cover.
12. Start the engine and inspect carefully for fuel leaks.
