INSPECTIONInspect Injector Injection
CAUTION: Keep Injector clear of sparks during the test.
1. Remove the 2 bolts and fuel hose clamp.
2. Disconnect the fuel inlet hose from the fuel tube.
3. Connect Special Service Tool (SST) (hose) to the fuel inlet tube with SST (union). Tighten the flare nut on the fuel tube (SST 09268-41045).
Torque: 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
4. Install a new O-ring to the fuel inlet of the pressure regulator.
5. Connect SST (hose) to the fuel inlet of the Pressure Regulator with SST (union) and the 2 bolts (SST 09268-41045)
6. Connect the fuel return hose to the fuel outlet of the Pressure Regulator with SST (union), 2 new gaskets and union bolt (SST 09268-41045).
Injector Hookup:
7. Install the grommet and a new O-ring to the Injector.
8. Connect SST (hose) to the Injector with SST (union), and hold the Injector and union with SST (clamp) (SST 09268-41045).
9. Put the Injector into the graduated cylinder.
HINT: Install a suitable vinyl hose onto the Injector to prevent gasoline from splashing out.
10. Using SST, connect terminals +B and FP of the Data Link Connector 1 (SST 09843-18020).
11. Reconnect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
12. Turn the Ignition Switch ON. Do NOT start the engine.
13. Connect SST (wire) to the Injector and battery for 15 seconds, and measure the injection volume with a graduated cylinder. Test each Injector 2 or 3 times (SST 09842-30070).
Volume: 70 - 88 Cm3 (4.3 - 5.4 Cu in) per 15 seconds
Difference between each Injector: 9 cm3 (0.5 Cu in) or less
If the injection volume is not as specified, replace the Injector.
Inspect Injector Leakage
1. In the condition above, disconnect the test probes of SST (wire) from the battery and check the fuel leakage from the Injector.
Fuel drop: 1 drop or less per minute
2. Disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
3. Remove SST.
4. Reconnect the fuel inlet hose to the fuel tube.
Torque: 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
5. Install the fuel hose clamp with the 2 bolts
