Instrument Panel Register - Replacement Procedure

REGISTER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE





To improve serviceability of the instrument panel register assembly on SC 300 / 400 vehicles without a passenger side airbag, new supply parts are available (see illustration). The following procedure is to be used with these parts.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:





1. To identify which of the two types (A or B) of instrument panel safety pad garnish subassembly is to be repaired, remove the assembly and inspect the back side as shown.

2. Using the flow chart, replace the register(s) as necessary:

Use caution not to over-torque the register screws. Specified torque values are 0.5 N-m (5.5 kgf-cm, 4.8 in.lbf.).
