Introduction





To reduce wind noise at the door mirror, the length of the foam fitted to the door mirror base has been extended. In addition, the electrical taping area has been extended. The following field fix procedure has been developed for 2001 model year LS 430 vehicles built before the production change.

Applicable Warranty*:

This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customers specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

Field Fix Method





Fit a piece of closed cell foam (EPT Sealer) to the door mirror base as shown.





Wind additional electrical tape around the wiring harness as shown.

^ Length of electrical tape: 90 mm or more.

^ Taping area: 50 mm or more.

NOTE:
After installing the door mirror, confirm the electrical tape is not coming off and is not floating.
