Installation Procedure

Installation of High Cooling Efficiency Radiator

1. Install the electric cooling fan to the radiator.

A. Install the electric cooling fan with the 6 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 Nm (50 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

B. Connect the radiator reservoir hose to the radiator.

2. Install the radiator and the electric cooling fan assembly.

A. Install the 2 lower radiator supports to the radiator.

B. Attach the 2 lower radiator supports on the radiator to the body bracket.

C. Install the radiator and electric cooling fan assembly with the 2 upper radiator supports and 2 nuts.

Torque: 13.5 Nm (135 kgf.cm, 10 in.lbf)

D. Connect the upper radiator hose to the radiator.

E. Connect the lower radiator hose to the radiator.

F. Connect the ECM outlet duct to the ECM box.

G. Connect the 2 A/T oil cooler hoses to the radiator.

H. Connect the cooling fan computer connector.

3. Install the air cleaner assembly.

4. Install the air cleaner inlet.

5. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant.

^ Use "Toyota Long Life Coolant" or equivalent, and mix it with plain water according to the manufacturer's directions.

^ Use of coolant which includes more than 50% ethylene-glycol (freezing protection down to-35°C [-31°F]) or 60% ethylene-glycol (freezing protection down to-50°C [-58°F]) is recommended. Do not exceed 70% ethylene-glycol. Capacity: 9.8 liters (10.4 U.S. qts, 8.6 Imp. qts).

NOTE:
^ Do not use an alcohol type coolant or plain water alone.
^ The coolant should be mixed with plain water (preferably demineralized water or distilled water).

CAUTION:
Use of improper coolants may damage engine cooling system.

A. Slowly pour the coolant into the radiator reservoir until it is "FULL."

B. Install the radiator caps to the radiator and radiator reservoir.

C. Bleed the cooling system.

^ Start the engine, and open the heater water valve.

^ Maintain the engine speed at 2,000 - 2,500 rpm, and warm up the engine.

D. Stop the engine, and wait until the engine coolant cools down.

E. Refill coolant to the radiator until it is full and into the reservoir until it reaches the "FULL" mark.

6. Start the engine and check for engine coolant and A/T fluid leaks.

7. Check the engine coolant specific gravity.

8. Install the V-bank cover.

9. Install the engine under cover.
