Rear Seat Belt

Rear Seat Belt:






REPLACEMENT

HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
- CRS stands for "child restraint seat".

CAUTION: Removal of the seat belt pretensioner must be started at least 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned OFF and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

1. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
2. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
3. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
4. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
5. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE COVER LH
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE COVER RH
7. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER LH
8. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH
9. Power adjuster type:
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY LH
10. Power adjuster type: REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY RH
11. Power adjuster type: REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY LH
12. Power adjuster type: REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY RH
13. Fixed type: REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY
14. Fixed type: REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY
15. w/o Rear sunshade:
REMOVE CENTER STOP LAMP ASSY




16. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSY
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 clips and remove the speaker grille.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




b. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the shoulder belt anchor cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




c. Remove the 2 clips.
d. Remove the 3 bolts and 3 floor anchors.
e. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the package tray trim panel.




17. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY LH
a. Disconnect the pretensioner connector, as shown in the illustration.
b. Remove the bolt and outer belt.

18. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY CENTER
a. Remove the bolt and outer belt.




19. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSY RH
a. Disconnect the pretensioner connector, as shown in the illustration.
b. Remove the bolt and outer belt.

20. REMOVE CRS ANCHOR BRACKET
a. Remove the bolt and anchor bracket.

21. REMOVE CRS LOWER ANCHORAGE
a. Remove the bolt and lower anchorage.

22. Fixed type:
REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH
a. Remove the bolt and seat belt.

23. Fixed type:
REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER BELT ASSY CENTER
a. Remove the bolt and seat belt.

24. Fixed type:
REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
a. Remove the bolt and seat belt.

25. Power adjuster type:
REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER BELT ASSY
a. Remove the bolt and seat belt.

26. REMOVE CRS TETHER ANCHOR BRACKET
a. Remove the bolt and anchor bracket.

27. INSTALL CRS TETHER ANCHOR BRACKET
a. Install the anchor bracket with the bolt.

Torque: 21 Nm (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)




28. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY
a. Check the degree of tilt when the belt begins to lock the ELR.

NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

b. Check the amount of inclination required to lock the retractor.
1. When the inclination of the retractor is 15° or less, check that the belt can be pulled from the retractor.
When the inclination of the retractor is over 45°, check that the belt locks.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

c. Install the rear seat inner belt and rear seat outer belt, as shown in the illustration.

HINT:
- The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

NOTE: Do not allow the anchor part of the rear belt and the protruding part of the floor panel to overlap.




1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assy.

d. Check the ELR lock.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt assy installed.

1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

e. Check fastening function of the child restraint system.

NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt assy installed.

1. When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically try to retract.
2. After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.




29. INSTALL CRS ANCHOR BRACKET
a. Install the CRS lower anchorage and CRS anchor bracket, as shown in the illustration.

HINT:
- The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

b. Connect the negative battery's terminal.






NOTE: When disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the systems shown in the table after the terminal is reconnected.

c. Check the SRS warning lamp.
