REMOVAL
1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY".

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
5. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
7. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH

19. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
20. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE
21. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX POCKET
22. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
23. REMOVE CONSOLE REAR END PANEL SUBASSEMBLY
24. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
25. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FRONT CARPET ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 11 clamps, 4 claws, 4 clips and 5 fasteners.

(b) Turn back the front floor front carpet assembly until the whole of the cross member floor No. 4 reinforcement sub-assembly can be seen.

26. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET LH
(a) Remove the 3 clips and the floor carpet bracket LH.

27. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

28. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Remove the bolt and the No. 2 console box duct.

29. REMOVE NO. 3 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Remove the bolt and the No. 3 console box duct.

30. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the 3 connectors.
(b) Remove the 4 bolts and the floor shift lever assembly.

HINT: It is not necessary to disconnect the transmission control cable from the floor shift lever assembly.

31. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Remove the clip and the No. 1 console box duct.

32. REMOVE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR
(a) Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and the yaw rate and acceleration sensor.

33. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

34. DISCONNECT NO. 4 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a wrench, hold the lock nut of the No. 1 parking brake cable and loosen the turnbuckle of the No. 4 parking brake cable.
(b) Disconnect the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

35. REMOVE NO. 2 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD
(a) Remove the No. 2 dash panel insulator pad.

36. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY
(a) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.
(b) Remove the bolt, nut, and the No. 1 parking brake cable clamp.

(d) Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
(e) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, and the parking brake pedal assembly with the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly from the body.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the parking brake pedal assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.
Torque: 39 N*m (398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf)
(b) Connect the parking brake switch connector.
(c) Install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly to the body with the bolt, nut, and a new No. 1 parking brake cable clamp.

Torque:
Bolt 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
Nut 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)

(d) Using a brass bar and a hammer, install the clip to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

2. INSTALL NO. 2 DASH PANEL INSULATOR PAD
(a) Install the No. 2 dash panel insulator pad.

3. CONNECT NO. 4 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

(b) Using SST and a wrench, hold the lock nut of the No. 1 parking brake cable and tighten the turnbuckle of the No. 4 parking brake cable.

Torque:
without SST 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
with SST 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

NOTICE:
^ Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 250 mm (9.84 in.).
^ This torque is effective when SST is parallel to a torque wrench.

4. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

5. INSTALL YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR
(a) Install the yaw rate and acceleration sensor assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 13 N*m (133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
(b) Engage the clamp and connect the connector.

6. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Install the No. 1 console box duct with the clip.

7. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the floor shift lever assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)
(b) Connect the 3 connectors.

8. INSTALL NO. 3 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Install the No. 3 console box duct with the bolt.

9. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Install the No. 2 console box duct with the bolt.

10. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET BRACKET LH
(a) Install the floor carpet bracket LH with the 3 clips.

11. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

12. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR FRONT CARPET ASSEMBLY
(a) Engage the 11 clamps, 4 claws, 4 clips and 5 fasteners, and install the front floor front carpet assembly.

13. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
14. INSTALL CONSOLE REAR END PANEL SUBASSEMBLY
15. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET
16. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX POCKET
17. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE
18. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
19. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUBASSEMBLY
20. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
21. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH

36. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

37. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
38. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
