Rear Seat Outer Belt Assembly:

REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment

2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE REAR CENTER SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
7. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
8. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH (W/o Rear Seat Side Airbag)
9. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH (W/o Rear Seat Side Airbag)
10. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (W/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)
11. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH (W/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)

HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

12. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH
13. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH
14. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY LH
15. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY RH
16. DISCONNECT REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
17. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT HOLE COVER
18. REMOVE CENTER STOP LIGHT SET (W/o Rear Sunshade)
19. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (W/o Rear Sunshade)
20. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (W/ Rear Sunshade)
21. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY

a. Using a screwdriver, pull out the locking button in the direction shown by the arrow to release the lock, and disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

b. Remove the 2 bolts and the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY

a. Check the degree of tilt when the ELR begins to lock.

1. Check that the belt does not lock at less than 15° of tilt in any direction but locks at over 45° of tilt while gently pulling the belt.

NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

b. Temporarily install the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly with the 2 bolts.
c. Fully tighten the rear side bolt first, then the front side bolt to install the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly.

Torque:for Front bolt 7.5 N.m (77 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)
for Rear bolt 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

d. Connect the pretensioner connector and lock the locking button as shown in the illustration.

3. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (W/ Rear Sunshade)
4. INSTALL CENTER STOP LIGHT SET (W/o Rear Sunshade)
5. INSTALL REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT HOLE COVER
6. CONNECT REAR SEAT INNER WITH CENTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
7. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY LH
8. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY RH
9. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH
10. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH
11. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (W/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)
12. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH (W/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)

HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

13. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH (W/o Rear Seat Side Airbag)
14. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH (W/o Rear Seat Side Airbag)
15. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
16. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
17. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
18. INSTALL REAR CENTER SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
19. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
20. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
21. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
22. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

23. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
