1. Connect the Diagnostic Tester to the DLC3 connector.
2. Enter the following menus on the tester:
OBD/MOBD / ENGINE / DATA LIST / A/T OIL TEMP
NOTE:
The A/T fluid temperature should be less than 104°F (40°C) before beginning the fluid temperature check.
3. Circulate the A/T fluid.
A. Start the engine in Park.
B. Move the gear selector from Park to Reverse.
C. Move the gear selector from Reverse to Neutral.
D. Move the gear selector from Neutral to Drive.
E. Return the gear selector to the Park position.
NOTE:
^ Allow each gear to engage fully when performing this step.
^ The A/T fluid temperature MUST be between 104°F (40°C) and 113°F (45°C) to accurately check the fluid level.
4. Check the A/T fluid level.
A. Allow the engine to idle until the A/T fluid temperature reaches 102°F (39°C).
B. Remove the overflow plug with the engine idling.
C. Check that fluid comes out of the overflow tube while the A/T fluid temperature is in the range of 104 - 113°F (40 - 45°C).
^ If fluid does NOT come out while in the temperature range of 104 - 113°F (40 - 45°C), proceed to step 5.
^ If fluid comes out, reinstall the overflow plug.
NOTE:
A small amount of A/T fluid will come out as the overflow plug is removed. Do NOT confuse this for proper fluid level. A/T fluid should come out of the overflow tube at a consistent rate.
5. Add A/T fluid.
Automatic Transaxle Fluid: Genuine ATF WS Transmission Fluid
A. Remove the refill plug.
B. Add fluid until it comes out of the overflow tube.
C. After A/T fluid temperature drops below 102°F (39°C), recheck A/T fluid level as described in step 4.
D. Install the overflow plug.
E. Install the refill plug.
