HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
7. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY





9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER
a. Remove the 3 screws.
b. Detach the claw and remove the cable cover.





10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips and remove the protector.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the cap.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and nut.
c. Remove the hood lock.
d. Disconnect the hood lock control cable.





12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Detach the 2 claws.
b. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock lever.

13. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY





a. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Pull the cable from the engine room and remove it.

INSTALLATION

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.





1. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
a. Pass the cable into the engine room.
b. Pass the cable rear side through the grommet until the cable stopper is attached to the grommet.
c. Pass the cable front side through the upper radiator support.
d. Connect the clamps as shown in the illustration.





2. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY





a. Install the hood lock lever and connect the hood lock control cable.
b. Attach the 2 claws.





3. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
a. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the lock.





b. Connect the hood lock control cable.
c. Install the hood lock.
d. Install the 2 bolts and nut.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

e. Install a new cap.





4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH
a. Attach the 3 clips to install the protector.





5. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER
a. Attach the claw to install the cable cover.
b. Install the 3 screws.

6. INSTALL MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY
7. ADJUST MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
9. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
12. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
13. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
