Introduction

Some 2007 model year LS 460/460L vehicle customers may complain of a rattle noise coming from under the front of the vehicle. The noise may be caused by loose front bolts for the engine under cover No.2. The engine under cover No.2 is the large aluminum panel under the engine and transmission.

Use the following procedure to correct this condition.

Applicable Warranty*
This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair procedure





If any of the 4 front bolts are loose, tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

Bolt head size: 10.0 mm (0.4 in.)

Torque: 10.0 N.m (102.0 kgf.cm, 7.4 ft.lbf)
