COOLING FAN MOTORCOMPONENTS (Part 1):

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
5. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
7. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
8. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
10. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE
11. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
12. REMOVE ECM OUTLET DUCT
13. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
14. REMOVE FAN SHROUD WITH FAN AND MOTOR
(a) Disconnect the cooling fan ECU's connector.
(b) Using a clip remover, detach the 3 clamps.
(c) Detach the 3 claws, and then remove the fan shroud with fan and motor.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FAN SHROUD WITH FAN AND MOTOR
(a) Install the fan shroud with fan and motor to the radiator, and attach the 3 claws.
(b) Attach the 3 clamps to the fan shroud, and connect the cooling fan ECU's connector.
2. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL ECM OUTLET DUCT
4. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
HINT: The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.
5. CONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE
HINT:
^ The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.
^ Insert the radiator hose into the stopper. Set the hose clamp so that the clearance between the hose clamp and the stopper is within 1.0 to 5.0 mm (0.039 to 0.20 in.).
^ For side B, assemble the clamp with the water hose set.
6. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
9. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
10. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK
11. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
12. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
14. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
15. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
16. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.
NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
