- February 20, 2008: The Warranty Information has been updated.
- August 16, 2007: The Production Change Effective VINs have been updated. The Current Part Numbers have been updated.
The previous TSB should be discarded.


INTRODUCTION:

Some 2007 model year LS 460 or LS 460L vehicles may exhibit a rattle or squeak noise from the engine compartment while idling. This may be caused by one or both of the engine idler pulleys. The engine idler pulleys have been updated to correct this condition. Please use the following repair procedure to address customer concerns.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2007 model year LS 460 and LS 460L vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Verify that the rattle or squeak noise is heard from the No. 1 and/or No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly.
2. Remove the drive belt.

3. Remove and replace the No. 1 idler pulley sub-assembly.

Torque: 43 N-m (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbs)






4. Remove and replace the No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly.

Torque: 43 N-m (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbs)

5. Install the drive belt.

6. Test drive to verify repair.
