CONDENSER

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
7. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH
9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

10. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH




a. Remove the 3 screws and extension pad.

11. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

12. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH




a. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clips.
b. Partially remove the fender liner.

HINT: It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper assembly can be removed later.

13. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

14. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER




a. Put protective tape around the front bumper.
b. Remove the bolt and 8 screws.




c. Detach the clip and remove the bumper seal bracket.

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




d. Detach the 5 claws and disconnect the front bumper as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

e. Disconnect the 2 fog light connectors and remove the front bumper.
f. w/ Intuitive Parking Assist system:
Disconnect the No. 4 engine room main wire connector and remove the front bumper.

15. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
16. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
17. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
18. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
19. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
20. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
21. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
a. Remove the 2 clips and duct seal.

22. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
23. REMOVE ECM OUTLET DUCT
24. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and sensor.

25. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER




a. Detach the claw, and remove the 3 screws and cover.

26. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
27. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER SUPPORT




a. Disconnect the 3 connectors and detach the 2 clamps.




b. Detach the 5 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.




c. Remove the 5 bolts and upper support.

28. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
29. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the cooler condenser.

NOTE:
- When loosening the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
- When loosening the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.

b. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.

NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

30. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe from the cooler condenser.

NOTE:
- When loosening the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
- When loosening the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.

b. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe.

NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

31. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the 4 bolts and cooler condenser.

32. REMOVE COOLER DRYER




a. Using a 14 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the cap from the modulator.




b. Remove the O-ring from the cap.




c. Using pliers, remove the cooler dryer.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL COOLER DRYER




a. Using pliers, install the cooler dryer.




b. Apply a sufficient amount of compressor oil to the contact surfaces of a new O-ring and the cap.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

c. Install the O-ring to the cap.




d. Using a 14 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the cap to the modulator.

Torque: 4.1 N.m (42 kgf.cm, 36 in.lbf)

2. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY




a. Install the cooler condenser with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

3. CONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe and the connecting part of the cooler condenser.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the pipe joint.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

c. Install the O-ring to the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe.
d. Install the cooler refrigerant liquid pipe to the cooler condenser with the bolt.

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

NOTE:
- When tightening the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
- When tightening the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.

4. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the hose and the connecting part of the cooler condenser.
b. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the hose joint.

Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

c. Install the O-ring to the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.
d. Install the cooler refrigerant discharge hose to the cooler condenser with the bolt.

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

NOTE:
- When tightening the bolt, do not allow any tools to contact the pipe.
- When tightening the bolt, hold a part of the pipe near the connector.

5. INSTALL RADIATOR UPPER SUPPORT




a. Attach the wire harness to the upper support with the 5 clamps.




b. Install the upper support with the 5 bolts.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)




c. Attach the 2 clamps to the radiator support LH and RH side.
d. Connect the 3 connectors.

6. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
7. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER




a. Install the cover with the 3 screws and attach the claw.

8. INSTALL MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY




a. Install the sensor with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

b. Connect the connector.

9. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
10. INSTALL ECM OUTLET DUCT
11. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
a. Install the duct seal with the 2 clips.

12. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
13. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
14. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
15. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
16. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
17. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
18. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER
a. w/ Intuitive Parking Assist system:
Connect the No. 4 engine room main wire connector.

b. Connect the 2 fog light connectors and install the front bumper.




c. Attach the 5 claws and connect the front bumper as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




d. Install the bumper seal bracket.

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.




e. Install the bolt and 8 screws.

19. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER LH




a. Install the 2 clips.

20. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

21. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH




a. Install the extension pad with the 3 screws.

22. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

23. INSTALL FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH
24. INSTALL FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING RH

HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

25. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
26. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
27. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
28. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
29. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
30. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
31. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
32. ADD COMPRESSOR OIL
33. CHARGE REFRIGERANT
34. WARM UP ENGINE
35. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
36. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
