Brake Warning Indicator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
5. REMOVE NO.1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY

NOTE: If the buzzer connector is disconnected with the buzzer installed to the vehicle, the clamp of the buzzer may be damaged. Make sure to remove the buzzer according to the procedures.




a. Detach the clamp and remove the buzzer from the extension panel.
b. Disconnect the buzzer connector.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on.

Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.

1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY

NOTE: If the buzzer connector is connected with the buzzer installed to the vehicle, the clamp of the buzzer may be damaged. Make sure to install the buzzer according to the procedures.

a. Connect the connector.




b. Attach the clamp and install the buzzer to the extension panel.

2. INSTALL NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER
6. INSTALL NO.1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
10. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
