Headlamp Bulb: Service and Repair

High Intensity Discharge Headlight Bulb:




HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH

4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH




5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH
a. Remove the 7 screws and 5 clips on the front side of the front fender liner LH, and bend the front fender liner LH.




6. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB
a. Turn the back cover in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.




b. Turn the headlight control ECU in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove the socket.




c. Release the set spring lock as shown in the illustration and remove the discharge headlight bulb.

NOTE: Do not touch the glass part of the bulb.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB
a. Lock the set spring and install the discharge headlight bulb.

NOTE: Do not touch the glass part of the bulb.




b. Turn the headlight control ECU in the direction indicated by the arrow and install the socket.
c. Turn the back cover in the direction indicated by the arrow and install it.




2. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER LH

a. Install the front fender liner LH with the 7 screws and 5 clips.

3. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH
4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal
