Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR
a. Disconnect the intake air control valve actuator connector.
b. Remove the nut, and disconnect the actuator rod.
HINT: When loosening the nut, hold the actuator rod in place so that it does not move.
c. Remove the 2 bolts. Then remove the intake air control valve actuator from the intake manifold.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR
a. Temporarily install the actuator rod to the intake air control valve actuator.
b. Install the intake air control valve actuator to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
c. Install the actuator rod to the intake air control valve actuator with the nut.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
HINT: When tightening the nut, hold the actuator rod in place so that it does not move.
d. Connect the intake air control valve actuator connector.
2. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
