CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
HINT: Refer to the procedures up to "REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY".
3. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (for Standard Body)
a. Remove the clip.
1. Using a clip remover, remove the pin.
2. Remove the clip shown in the illustration.
b. Remove the spacer.
1. Remove the spacer shown in the illustration.
c. Disconnect the connector.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
d. Remove the 8 bolts and curtain shield airbag.
4. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (for Long Body)
a. Remove the clip.
1. Using a clip remover, remove the pin.
2. Remove the clip shown in the illustration.
b. Remove the spacer shown in the illustration.
c. Disconnect the connector.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
d. Remove the 8 bolts and curtain shield airbag.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (for Standard Body)
a. Install the curtain shield airbag with the 2 clips and 8 new bolts.
Torque: 11 N.m (110 kgf.cm, 8 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Do not twist the curtain shield airbag when installing it.
b. Connect the connector.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
2. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH (for Long Body)
a. Install the curtain shield airbag with the 2 clips and 8 new bolts.
Torque: 11 N.m (110 kgf.cm, 8 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Do not twist the curtain shield airbag when installing it.
b. Connect the connector.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
3. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
a. Refer to the procedures from "INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY".
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
6. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
