NOTICE:
^ Do not remove the lock nut.
^ Loosen the lock nut only when disassembling the front shock absorber with coil spring.

(b) Remove the 3 nuts from the upper side of the front suspension support.
(c) Slowly lower the jack. Remove the bolt from the lower side to remove the front shock absorber with coil spring.

DISASSEMBLY

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER LH NUT
(a) Install SST to the front coil spring so that the distance between the upper and lower hooks is as wide as possible within the installation area.
SST 09727-30021 (09727-00010, 09727-00021, 09727-00031)
(b) Compress the front coil spring until it can be moved freely.

NOTICE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.

HINT: The front coil spring can also be compressed using a hydraulic spring compressor.

(c) Remove the nut.
2. REMOVE REAR SUPPORT TO REAR SHOCK ABSORBER LH COLLAR
(a) Remove the collar from the shock absorber.
3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the suspension support assembly with the insulator upper from the shock absorber.
4. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING LH
(a) Remove the coil spring from the shock absorber.
5. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR UPPER LH
(a) Remove the insulator upper from the suspension support.
6. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR LOWER LH
(a) Remove the insulator lower from the shock absorber.

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Extend and compress the front shock absorber.
(1) When extending and compressing the front shock absorber at a constant speed, it can be moved without any abnormal resistance or noise and load is constant through the entire stroke. It also extends at a constant speed after being compressed.
If there is any abnormality, replace the front shock absorber with a new one.

NOTICE: When disposing of the front shock absorber, see DISPOSAL.

REASSEMBLY

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR LOWER LH
(a) Install the front coil spring insulator lower to the front shock absorber so that both recessed parts are aligned.

2. INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING LH
(a) Using SST, compress the coil spring.
SST 09727-30021 (09727-00010, 09727-00021, 09727-00031)

NOTICE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.

(b) Install the coil spring so that the end comes to the stepped portion of the coil spring insulator lower.

3. INSTALL FRONT COIL SPRING INSULATOR UPPER LH
(a) Align the bolt of the front suspension support and the cutout of the front coil spring insulator, and install the front coil spring insulator on the front suspension support.
(b) Align the width across flat of the piston rod end and of the front suspension support to install the front shock absorber.
4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the suspension support assembly with the insulator upper to the shock absorber.
5. INSTALL REAR SUPPORT TO REAR SHOCK ABSORBER LH COLLAR
(a) Install the collar to the shock absorber.
6. INSTALL FRONT SUPPORT TO FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER LH NUT
(a) Temporarily install a new lock nut to the front shock absorber.

(b) Adjust the front suspension support so that the bolts come to the positions as shown in the illustration, and remove SST from the front coil spring.

NOTICE:
^ Do not use an impact wrench.
^ Make sure that the width across flat on the piston rod end is located parallel to the shock absorber bush.
^ Make sure of the direction of the front suspension support when removing SST.
^ Install the front suspension support so that the paint marks face vehicle outside.
