REMOVAL
1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH

6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
7. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
8. REMOVE FLOOR NO. 1 UNDER COVER
9. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the rear propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
10. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL
11. INSPECT REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT RATTLE
12. INSPECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT RATTLE
13. INSPECT REAR NO. 1 CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT RATTLE

15. REMOVE LOAD SENSING VALVE SENSOR BRACKET LH

41. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
42. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH
43. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH

50. DISCONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH
51. REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
52. REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
53. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY WITH DRIVE SHAFT
(a) Support the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) with a transmission jack.
CAUTION:
^ As the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) is very heavy, securely support it with the transmission jack.
^ Perform this procedure with several people supporting the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) so that it does not tilt or fall.
(b) Using SST or a 12 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the 3 bolts (A) from the rear No. 1 and No. 2 differential mount cushions.
SST 09249-63010
(c) Remove the 2 bolts (B).
(d) Slowly lower the transmission jack. Then remove the rear differential mount stopper upper and lower, and rear differential carrier assembly from the rear suspension member.
NOTICE:
^ Do not drop the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft).
^ When removing the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft), do not damage the installation surface.
54. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Support the rear suspension member with an engine lift and attachments.
CAUTION:
^ As the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) is very heavy, securely support it with the transmission jack.
^ Perform this procedure with several people supporting the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) so that it does not tilt or fall.
(b) Removing the parking brake actuator harness and release cable.
(1) Disconnect the trunk interior's parking brake actuator grommet and connector.
(2) Remove the clamps shown in the illustration.
(3) Remove the 2 nuts, and the release cable.
(c) For Normal Package
(1) Remove the 4 bolts. Then remove the 2 rear suspension member stopper lowers, and the 2 differential support member stopper lowers.
(d) For Sports Package
(1) Remove the 8 bolts. Then remove the rear suspension member stopper lower RH and LH, and the 2 differential support member stopper lowers.
(e) Lower the engine lift slowly, and remove the rear suspension member.
55. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER DAMPER
(a) Remove the 3 bolts, and the rear suspension member damper.
56. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION
(a) Pass SST bolts through the area shown in the illustration, and remove the mount cushion No. 1.
SST 09316-12010, 09570-24011
NOTICE:
^ When removing the mount cushion No. 1, do not allow the rear suspension member to contact SST (09316-12010).
^ Before using SST bolts, apply hypoid gear oil to their threads.
^ Be sure to combine SST properly.
^ Do not install SST bolts at an angle.
^ Make sure SST bolts are tightened equally.
57. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION
(a) Pass SST bolt through the area shown in the illustration, and remove the mount cushion No. 2.

NOTICE:
^ When removing the mount cushion No. 2, do not allow the rear suspension member to contact SST (09316-12010).
^ Before using SST bolt, apply hypoid gear oil to its threads.
^ Be sure to combine SST properly.
^ Do not install SST bolts at an angle.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION
(a) Pass SST bolts through the area shown in the illustration, and install the mount cushion No. 1.

NOTICE:
^ Make sure the mount cushion installation angle misalignment is not over ± 3.
^ Make sure the mount cushion is not at an angle by first temporarily installing the mount cushion to the member before installing SST.
^ Before using SST bolts, apply hypoid gear oil to their threads.
^ Be sure to combine SST properly.
^ Confirm that SST contacts the entire seat surface of the mount cushion.
^ Do not install SST bolts at an angle.
^ Make sure SST bolts are tightened equally.
2. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION
(a) Pass SST bolt through the area shown in the illustration, and install the mount cushion No. 2.

NOTICE:
^ Make sure the mount cushion installation angle misalignment is not over ± 3.
^ Make sure the mount cushion is not at an angle by first temporarily installing the mount cushion to the member before installing SST.
^ Before using SST bolt, apply hypoid gear oil to their threads.
^ Be sure to combine SST properly.
^ Confirm that SST contacts the entire seat surface of the mount cushion.
^ Do not install SST bolts at an angle.
3. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER DAMPER
(a) Install the rear suspension member damper with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 25 N*m (255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf)
4. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Support the rear suspension member with an engine lift and attachments.
CAUTION:
^ As the rear suspension member is very heavy, securely support it with an engine lifter with attachments.
^ Perform this procedure with several people supporting the rear suspension member so that it does not tilt or fall.
(b) Slowly raise the engine lift so that the rear suspension member is at its installation position.
(c) For Normal Package
(1) Install the 2 rear suspension member stopper lowers, and the 2 differential support member stopper lowers with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 127 N*m (1300 kgf*cm, 94 ft.*lbf)
(d) For Sports Package
(1) Install the 2 rear suspension member stopper lower LH and RH, and the 2 differential support member stopper lowers with the 8 bolts.
Torque:
A 127 N*m (1300 kgf*cm, 94 ft.*lbf)
B 19 N*m (195 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)
(e) Connecting the harness and cable of the parking brake unit.
(1) Connect the cable with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
(2) Connect the clamps shown in the illustration.
(3) Connect the trunk interior's parking brake actuator grommet and connector.
5. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY WITH DRIVE SHAFT
(a) Place the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) on a transmission jack.
CAUTION:
^ As the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) is very heavy, securely support it with the transmission jack.
^ Perform this procedure with several people supporting the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) so that it does not tilt or fall.
(b) Slowly raise the transmission jack so that the rear differential carrier (with drive shaft) is at its installation position.
NOTICE: When installing the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft), do not damage the installation surface.
(c) Temporarily install the mount stopper upper and lower with 2 new bolts (B).
(d) Temporarily install 2 new bolts (A).
(e) Temporarily install a new bolt (C).
(f) Using SST and a 12 mm socket hexagon wrench, tighten the 2 bolts (A).
SST 09249-63010
Torque:
without SST 142 N*m (1450 kgf*cm, 105 ft.*lbf)
with SST 103 N*m (1054 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
NOTICE:
^ Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 400 mm (16 in.)
^ Tighten the bolts so that they do not interfere with the bolt holes of the mount cushions.
(g) Using SST and a 12 mm socket hexagon wrench, tighten the bolt (C).
SST 09249-63010
Torque:
without SST 142 N*m (1450 kgf*cm, 105 ft.*lbf)
with SST 103 N*m (1054 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
NOTICE:
^ Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 400 mm (16 in.)
^ Tighten the bolts so that they do not interfere with the bolt holes of the mount cushions.
(h) Tighten the 2 bolts (B).
Torque: 127 N*m (1300 kgf*cm, 94 ft.*lbf)
NOTICE: Make sure that the mount stop upper and lower are not shifted or tilted.
6. INSTALL REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY LH

8. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH
9. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH
10. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH
11. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH
12. TEMPORARILY CONNECT REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM LH
13. TEMPORARILY CONNECT REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM RH
14. CONNECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
15. CONNECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Install the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
61. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Add differential oil.
62. CHECK DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Check differential oil.
63. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
(a) Install the rear wheels.
Torque: 140 N*m (1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf)
64. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH
65. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
66. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH
67. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
68. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

70. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM (for Air Suspension)
(a) Check the suspension control system.
71. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust rear wheel alignment.
72. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
(a) Check speed sensor signal.
73. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.
NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
