Windshield Washer Motor: Service and Repair

FRONT WASHER MOTOR

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
a. Remove the front bumper cover.

4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)
5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Headlight Cleaner System)
6. DRAIN WASHER FLUID




a. Remove the washer hose from the windshield washer motor and pump, and drain the washer fluid.

7. REMOVE WASHER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the bolt and washer inlet.

8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY
a. w/o Headlight Cleaner System:
1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

b. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:
1. Disconnect the 4 connectors.




2. Loosen the clip and disconnect the headlight cleaner hose.




c. Remove the 3 bolts. Then remove the windshield washer jar and pump.

9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the windshield washer motor and pump.

10. REMOVE HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR PUMP ASSEMBLY (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)
a. Remove the headlight cleaner motor pump.

11. REMOVE HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)
a. Remove the headlight cleaner control relay.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY
a. Install the headlight cleaner control relay.

2. INSTALL HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY
a. Install the headlight cleaner motor and pump.

3. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY
a. Install the windshield washer motor and pump.

4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY




a. Install the windshield washer jar and pump with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

b. w/o Headlight Cleaner System:
1. Connect the 2 connectors.

c. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:




1. Connect the headlight cleaner hose to the windshield washer jar and pump.
2. Connect the 4 connectors.

5. INSTALL WASHER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Install the washer inlet with the bolt.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

6. FILL WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH WASHER FLUID




a. Connect the washer hose to the windshield washer motor and pump, and fill the washer jar with washer fluid.

7. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)
8. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Headlight Cleaner System)
9. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER
a. Install the front bumper cover.

10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

13. ADJUST HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH
a. Adjust the headlight.
