Rear Seat Side Airbag Assembly

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Check Mode Procedure.

(b) With the rear seat airbag assembly installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check including the following:





* Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the rear seat airbag assembly.

2. REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED)

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Check Mode Procedure.

(b) With the rear seat airbag assembly removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the rear seat airbag assembly with a new one:





* Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the rear seat airbag assembly.

* Cracks or other damage to the connector.

For removal and installation procedures of the rear seat airbag assembly. Be sure to follow the correct procedure.
