DRIVE SHAFT / PROPELLER SHAFT: PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 2GR-FSE): DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE PROPELLER INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

(a) Put matchmarks on the propeller intermediate shaft assembly and propeller shaft assembly.

(b) Separate the propeller intermediate shaft assembly and propeller shaft assembly.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the splines.

(c) Remove the adjusting nut from the propeller intermediate shaft assembly.

(d) Remove the dust boot from the propeller shaft assembly.

HINT
If the dust boot is to be reused, remove it after wrapping vinyl tape around the spline to prevent damage.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a snap ring expander, remove the No. 2 propeller shaft dust deflector snap ring.





(b) Using SST and a press, remove the No. 1 center support bearing assembly and No. 2 propeller shaft dust deflector.

(c) Using SST and a press, remove the No. 1 propeller shaft dust deflector.
