SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side): INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the engine switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Connect the airbag connector to the driver side knee airbag assembly.





NOTICE:
When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Push in the lock to install the airbag connector.

(e) Temporarily install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 2 pins.





(f) Install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Confirm that the driver side knee airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

(g) Engage the claw to connect the hood lock control cable to the driver side knee airbag assembly.





2. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

3. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Installation

6. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH Installation

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

8. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

9. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
